Gently Rapping At My Chamber Door

But it wasn't a raven. It was a drunk visitor, who at 1.30 a.m. thought it would be fun to knock on girl's doors.
I'd been listening to him and his friend running up and down the stairs for a while, and I was rather annoyed. For once I didn't sleep with earplugs, and I was regretting it. I thought I heard someone knock om my door, but I ignored it, thinking that it was probably at some neightbour's door. When I heard him knock on the door of the Spanish and the Chinese girl accross the hall, and they started talking, I thought "Faen heller!" and got up to ask them to be quiet. But it didn't seem like the girls were too happy with the late night visit either, and they quickly closed their door when the guy turned his attention to me.
"You alone?"
"Yeah," I said, and he got closer, almost stepping through my doorway, but I pushed him away. I think I told him to go, but he ignored me.
"Where are you from?" he asked, just as I closed (and for once, locked) my door. He didn't seem to happy about it, and tried to open it.
"I'll call the cops!" I told him, but he didn't stop. I suddenly remembered the mail we'd got, giving us the numbers of the people on duty in Pantycelyn this week, and I turned my computer on. Behind me, the guy was still trying to open up the door.
"This is a fighter, this one!" he called up to his friend, and I prayed that the lock on the door would be one of those old unbreakable ones. I wasn't sure whether it was because it was in the middle of the night, and that I'd gotten up too fast, or if it was the adrenaline, but there was no mistaking that the sound I was hearing was my own heartbeat and blood running in my ears.
"I'm calling the house lady!" I called. Finally, I found the mail, and I dialed a number, but no one answered. Of course, they were probably only on duty during daytime. Luckily, the 24-hours security number was also listed, and they answered immediately. They told me that they'd send a security guard, and that he'd probably come by and ask me some questions. By the time we hung up, the guy had left, but I could still hear him knocking on a door somewhere else. I stayed up for half an hour reading, and I thought I heard someone talk into a walkie-talkie in the hallway. After a while, I dialed the 24-hours number again, and asked if they'd been here, and yes, they had! They had found the guy, who was visiting a friend, and had removed him. I described how he looked like, and they confirmed that it was indeed the same man. Then he asked if it was okay if they listed me as a witness, and I agreed.

I talked to Sara earlier, mentioning that I'd called security, and that the guy wouldn't be back. She said he'd entered her room!

I love 24-hour security numbers :)

Og slik går no dagan.

Friday I had Fish and Chips for dinner, and for some reason, I got an alergic reaction to it :S The area around my lips swell and itched, and it stayed like that for a couple of days.

Saturday I went with the Erasmus Society to Folly Farm and then to a town with a Saturday market and some ruins, which I can't remember the name of (funny, if you google Wales, town and ruins, it still doesn't narrow it down). Folly Farm was OK, the zoo wasn't as great as the one in Odense, but they had some cool old carneval rides. Not to mention, they had really good fudge with honeycomb! Honeycomb is a crispy, porous kind of caramel.

Christian fant en navnebror.

Sunday we went for yet another hike, this time to Moel Siabod in Snowdoina. I had been a clever girl, setting my phone to winter time the night before. Turns out it sets itself automatically, and suddenly I only had fifteen minutes to get dressed, make lunch and pack my bag. It was a long busride, but the hike itself only lasted four hours. It was very windy, and at the top it was difficult standing up.

Dagen avsluttes med kaffe mocca.

Today I went on a fieldtrip to Ynis Hir RSPB reserve (and Mom thinks it weird that I never know where we're going, who can remeber names like that?) to look at geese.

So many weeks, so much stuff!

So much happened the past weeks, I never got around to refresh my blog.
My computer was a week at the IT department for a health check.
My parents came to visit. We went to the butterfly house and to devil's bridge.
Went pubbing.
Got hit in the face twice by Rowan (and I'm totaly milking it, 'cause it didn't hurt, but I still got a drink XD ).
Tried to fix hotell and flight tickets for Marius to come and visit (there was a reason why FlyBe was cheap, and not a good one).
Went hiking in my new rain gear! I'm really glad I had hiking gear.
Slid down a hill in my new slippery hiking gear. Wohooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Decided to go with Milla to London in December.
Decided to meet up with Tisa while I'm in London.
Decided to go with the Erasmus Society to Folly Farm on Saturday.
Decided to go with the Hiking Club somewhere for a whole weekend.
Been buying stuff for my Halloween costume (Megamind, YAY).
Bought a new hat.
Ate my own weight in chocolate.
Been keeping my stress level down by NOT THINKING ABOUT THINGS! Taking one day at a time (to my mother's annoyance, as I never know where I'm going hiking the following weekend until I'm there)

Have some pictures:

Snowdon!

This is my "I'm sick" outfit. I got the sweater from my mum's friend's mum before I left for Wales. It's really fluffy and warm and comfy. How did I catch cold? By going on an amazing hike to the top of Snowdon, that's how :D

We left Aber at 8 in the morning, and headed north. I think we went from somewhere close to Llyn Cwellyn. Then we went on top of one mountain...

...and after walking down, we had lunch before heading up Snowdon. It was a rough trip, and I can feel in my bum that I joined the hard group. Honestly, I think it's trying to kill me everytime I get up! We walked up a rather steep path and did our share of climbing.

The view was great, but there was a lot of fog, and sadly, we didn't get to see a lot of it. The moutain in the front here is the first one we climbed.

It also rained a bit, and it turns out that my waterproof clothing is only waterproof from the inside out :S Which  means I got rather wet and never dried up.

Finally we reached the top of Snowdon! There was a café there and a souvenir shop, so we warmed up a bit before heading back down.

When we reached Llanberis, we went into a nice restaurant and got ourselves food, something hot to drink and a change of clothes. I bought a coco, small size, but MAN, it had a mountain of delicious whipped cream, marshmallows and a chocolate! This polish girl got the big size.

Turns out that here in Britain, it's common to eat chips (fries) with cheese, and you can also get chips sandwiches:

Yeah, you heard me right, chips sandwiches. It's more common than you'd think!

I've been fighting a "fresher's flu" this whole week, but this wet trip was the "nail to the coffin" as we'd say in Norway. So instead of going outside (except for food and lectures) I've finally gotten around to rearranging my bedroom and getting some posters on the wall. I'll take a picture when my room is less messy. I'll clean it before Mum and Dad comes to visit by the end of the week...

Some people are just too awesome.

I've had two Tae Kwon-Do lessons this week. The proof is my bruised legs ;) It was great! They call us "white belts", because we don't have a grading yet. All the white belts train together, and Harriet is our teacher. She's the leader, and a black belt. Harriet is great; she's patience, funny and know what she's doing. Duing practice, we have to call her Ma'am, and we also have to call each other Sirs and Ma'ams.

Yesterday I went to my first socials in the Erasmus Society and the Tae Kwon-Do club. The Erasmus social was a "white T-shirt" social, so we all brought markers and pens to write on each other's shirts. I went off to the Tae Kwon-Do social afterwards, and got the members to sign my shirt as well. We're trying to get sponsors, so we went pub crawling. I had a great night and wasn't home until 3 in the morning!
